Great news: City Council voted on June 21 to move forward with protected bike lanes on Grand! A few amendments to further enhance the project will be looked into before a final vote of approval in September. The Alameda Bike Festival on May 22nd was a very popular event this year. Bike Walk Alameda provided an updated Bicycling and Walking Map of Alameda and left over Bike to Wherever Day bags. Volunteers brought their cool electric and cargo bikes to the BWA bike “petting zoo.”
