Festival Activities Include:

Pre-festival Bike Education class
Family Cycling Workshop 10 am – 12:30 pm

This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range 2nd-6th). Pre-registration is preferred.

BikeMobile – free bike tune-ups!

Bike Rodeos 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:45 pm

Bike rodeos are fun-filled courses that focus on introducing elementary and middle school students to safe bicycle handling skills and riding techniques.

Pedestrian Rodeo

A team of safety instructors conducts this engaging and fun-filled traffic simulation course to teach students safe pedestrian behaviors.

Free Urban Cycling workshop

Learn basic rules of the road, how to equip your bicycle, fit your helmet, avoid bike theft and prevent common crashes. This 1.5 hour indoor workshop is for adults, teens and kids 10+ years old, no bike required.
Pre-registration required.

Music Notes @ 12 pm and 1 pm

Music Notes performs concerts that teach walking and biking safety through hip-hop songs and videos.

Cargo & E-Bike Exploratorium. Bike Walk Alameda will be providing an updated Bicycling and Walking Map of Alameda, helping folks register their bikes and run a bike “petting zoo” with examples of cool electric and cargo bikes of all kinds

Visit the Alameda Library’s Words On Wheels trike and register your kids for the Summer Reading Program and a whole lot more to inspire, educate and encourage bicycle riding in Alameda.

This festival is a project of the City of Alameda, Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools, the Bay Farm School PTSA, the Alameda Safe Routes to School Task Force in partnership with Alameda Unified School District, Kiwanis Club of Alameda and the Alameda Elks Lodge.
