If you’ve lived in Alameda for any length of time, chances are you’ve met George Stephens. He’s one of the friendly staffers at Alameda Bicycle and an Island fixture who can often be seen pedaling around town or reading at a local coffee shop, and someone who is quick to offer a smile or advice about bikes.
George was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments. And he needs our help to make it through.
